After careful planning of your NCAA tournament bracket on Selection Sunday, your well thought out picks have undoubtedly been a victim of a few upsets. But one thing every knowledgeable basketball fan knows is that higher seeded teams almost always win the tournament. In fact, a number one seeded team has made the final four all but two years.
Even though your chances of picking a perfect March Madness bracket are 9.2 quintillion to 1, there is one decision that is a can’t miss…the Sharp 835 series. We carry many premium TVs in our showroom, but this series is very special. Coming in 60, 52, 46 and 40-inch screen sizes, this TV uses Quattron technology, meaning it adds an extra yellow pixel to enhance the picture quality. With built-in Wi-Fi it is capable of streaming Netflix and Hulu wirelessly.
The 835 series also comes with Sharp’s AquoMotion 240 technology, improving picture quality by virtually eliminating blur and artifacts from fast-moving onscreen action sequences, perfect for a high intensity basketball games. Also unique to the 835 series is Quad Pixel Plus, which improves image resolution. And for your other home technology components, the Sharp 835 series has four HDMI ports.
Like a great college basketball coach, we went after the best talent, which is why we are the only store in St. Louis to carry the Sharp 835 series. Other big box stores carry a lesser model, without the necessary features for quality screen control. Don’t be fooled by their claims that other models are an equivalent, they are not.
If you want to experience March Madness like it was intended to, stop by our showroom and see the difference a Sharp 835 series can deliver. We guarantee you will not be disappointed. Come quick the last game of the tournament is April 4!

Standing out among some of the regions best companies, The Sound Room was named the 2010 Business of the Year by the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce at their annual awards luncheon. Marking the first time the local home audio and video specialty retailer received the award from the 900 member chamber of commerce.
“We had a great year and have been a part of the chamber for many years. Looking around at the other candidates, it makes us feel honored to be chosen,” said David Young, The Sound Room president. “The last few years have been difficult for many in our industry, with some of the biggest names going out of business.”
Many of the most effected retailers have been big-box stores and retailers not embracing change. Being a local custom home audio and video retailer has allowed The Sound Room to respond to the changing needs of their customers and stay on the cutting edge of technology. In 2010, the company added a solar division, 3D TVs and home health care automation.
“We work hard to bring value to our customers and couldn’t have done it without our expert staff,” said Young. “They truly care about giving the customer the best experience possible and work hard to stay knowledgeable about the industry.”
The Sound Room was also named no. 26 on the CE Pro magazine’s Top 100 List of custom retailers and Crestron Dealer of the Year in 2010. According to Young, the company has been able to separate itself from other integrators by keeping prices competitive and simply giving customers the best advice possible.

Football fans across the country have been waiting months for this day…the beginning of the NFL and college seasons. Now that everything is well underway, fans can expect a new viewing experience from an innovative generation of home technology, making them feel part of the action, no matter how far away they from the stadium.
Football teams are always looking for an edge, so why shouldn’t you. This year, serious fans have been finding that edge with 3D TV. In the past it might have seemed like something was missing from the picture, that’s because something was, a third dimension.
With 3D TV, fans get a more complete picture that is sharper and unmatched by regular HD. The best part about 3D TV is that it is already coming to mainstream audiences at affordable prices. This year ESPN is showing a growing number of professional and college 3D football games.
Besides from affordable, 3D TVS are also getting bigger. Since 3D technology is being integrated into many of the newest models of TVs carried by The Sound Room, their size is as large as regular big screen HDTVs.
If big screens 3D TVs are not “large” enough for your football craving, there are screens available that would put the Ram’s offensive line to shame. HD projectors are finding their way to football fans’ living rooms and backyards all over the country. These screens are around 100 inches, that’s more than 8 feet across! Imagine your next home tailgate party with a larger than life picture, giving new meaning to “big plays.”
Being a member of the Home Technology Specialist of America, we are part a team of 59 integrators who only offer the best in home entertainment. If you want to take your home football experience to the next level, only trust the best. Next time you are at The Sound Room ask one of our experts how they can put you in the action from the comfort of your living room.

What if you could make your electric meter turn backwards, wouldn’t you do it? We would, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen every time we use the home theater at The Sound Room’s Chesterfield location. Our home theater will be “off the grid” for 20 hours every week, or powered by solar energy from The Sound Room’s newest division. And to celebrate, we will be hosting an event to highlight the ease and efficiency of solar energy. On Tuesday August 10, at 10:30 a.m., Chesterfield Mayor John Nations along with The Sound Room’s David Young will be in attendance to unveil the company’s newest division, as well as throw the switch powering up the solar panels installed on our roof. Our expert staff will also be showing the public how much power we are actually saving, in digital readings.
If you haven’t considered solar energy in the past, maybe now is the time to take all or parts of your energy consumption off the grid. In the past Missouri has been slow to adopt alternative forms of energy, because of lower than average energy costs, missing out on years of reducing fossil fuel consumption and the release of CO2. In Missouri we rely on coal for energy, which has led us to become one of the most inefficient states in the country.
Until recently, government agencies have set up tax incentives to coax Missourians to make the jump to solar energy. Homes can recoup up to a 30 percent tax credit and businesses can take part on the $21 million still available as part of the Missouri utility’s efficiency program, aimed at reducing electricity usage by 2025. Because of these programs to date AmeranUE customers will save 50 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, the equivalent power used by 4,000 homes. And another 57 million kilowatt-hours a year worth of projects are underway.
Having the professionals from The Sound Room install solar panels on your home can take as little as one to two days and will have an immediate impact on your energy bill and CO2 emissions. By installing a one kilowatt solar system, it will prevent 170 pounds of coal from being burned which equals 300 pounds of CO2, each month. An average U.S. home consumes 11,040 kilowatts a year and there are over 100 million houses in the country.
If you want to take yourself off the grid or learn more about solar energy. Join us at our Chesterfield location and learn how to feel guiltless green just like us. And if you are interested in what powers our home theater and how compact the solar panels are, below are some pictures of installers at work:
