May 14, 2008: CHESTERFIELD, Mo. – The Sound Room marks its 25th anniversary by announcing its placement on CE Pro magazine’s 2008 Top 100 list, which ranks the country’s top custom integrators. This is The Sound Room’s third straight appearance on the list, and it is the only Missouri-based company represented. CE Pro is a leading trade publication in the custom electronics industry.

The 2008 list ranked custom audio and video integrators by total revenue generated the prior year. The Sound Room ranked 31 on the list with a 20 percent increase from 2006 revenues, said President David Young.

In its 10th year, the Top 100 list indicated a trend in the systems integration industry, which has been growing while the country faces an economic downturn. The average revenue among the top 100 integrators in 2007 was $7.4 million, an increase of 9 percent compared to 2006 revenues, the magazine reported. Statistics also showed a leap in the average installation price of 7 percent.

“Custom audio and video installation and integration has risen in popularity over the past several years, and The Sound Room has been at the forefront of this trend locally as well as nationally,” said Young.

The Sound Room, which designs and installs fully integrated audio and video systems for residential and commercial markets, has steadily built its custom installation business. The company increased its integration business by 5 percent last year, and today, 80 percent of its business is in custom installation and integration.
